Elegant New Orleans Wedding at Il Mercato with Grand Events, Windsor Court & Sacred Heart Ceremony

A Chic New Orleans Wedding: Francesca and Gus Celebrate with Southern Elegance and a Whole Lot of Fun

When it came time for Francesca and Gus to tie the knot, the couple chose to celebrate in true New Orleans style: with timeless elegance, radiant florals, and a party that didn’t stop until long after the stars were out. With the help of the renowned team at Grand Events, their weekend unfolded like something out of a dream—equal parts classic romance and Crescent City magic.

A Weekend Steeped in Charm

The festivities began with an intimate and refined rehearsal dinner at the Windsor Court Hotel, a New Orleans institution known for its understated glamour and impeccable service. It was the perfect setting for the couple to welcome their closest friends and family, setting the tone for the weekend ahead.

On the morning of the wedding, Francesca and her bridal party gathered in a suite at the Windsor Court to get ready, surrounded by the hum of excitement, laughter, and the pop of champagne bottles. Glam NOLA had everyone looking their best with perfect hair and makeup. The bride, radiant in a gown that seemed to float with every step, was joined by her bridesmaids dressed in varying styles of pale blue—each one chosen to flatter and reflect their personalities, yet seamlessly cohesive.

A Sacred Ceremony

The ceremony was held at the Academy of the Sacred Heart, a breathtaking and historic chapel that added depth and grandeur to the moment. Francesca made her entrance beneath vaulted ceilings and soft natural light, a stunning contrast to the bold and bright florals by the talented Dunn & Sonnier that lined the aisle. Guests were awed by the vibrant arrangements—lush, joyful blooms in pinks, oranges, and deep purples—bringing an unexpectedly fresh energy to the formal setting.

A Reception to Remember

The celebration continued at Il Mercato, an architectural gem tucked into the Lower Garden District. With its Spanish-style courtyard, arched windows, and flickering lanterns, the venue exuded old-world charm with a modern twist. Grand Events transformed the space into a celebration that felt equal parts luxurious and wildly fun. Joel Catering served everyone delicious food all night!

Guests dined under twinkling lights and danced beneath a canopy of blooms as the Phunky Monkeys—a New Orleans favorite—brought down the house. From the couple’s first dance to a late-night, second-line-inspired finale, every moment was electric.

As the night ended with joyful revelry and the newlyweds surrounded by their people, one thing was clear: Francesca and Gus’ wedding wasn’t just a celebration—it was a true New Orleans love story, written with style, soul, and just the right amount of sparkle.

The fabulous James Shaw Photography captured stills throughout the wedding weekend and Cigar Factory was rolling cigars as a super fun extra touch.

After receiving her Bride Film Feature Film, Francesca replied, “This is truly amazing, thank y’all so much! I’m in tears all over again! Such a beautiful film and truly captured how special the weekend was!” Emails like this truly mean so much to us!
